JCL-Drawer

JCL-Drawer is a software that makes the flowchart of a Job from its JCL source code (*). This tool is especially designed to work on this language.

JCL-Drawer can process several Jobs at the same time and generates their diagrams in one or several Excel workbooks. These flowcharts can be automatically printed or exported in SVG format, or simply kept in Excel.

JCL-Drawer is highly customizable in order to compensate for the semantic lacks of JCL and to adapt to a maximum number of real situations. Parameters can set up both diagrams rendering (display of steps, file names, fonts, icone sizes, colors...)...

...and contents (selection of handling rules for comments, OPC scheduler directives, JCL cards that should be handled in a special way, detection of input or output files...).

JCL-Drawer is a portable software written in VBA code and runs as an Excel application. The JCL code to be processed must simply be exported into a reachable text file for Excel.

Since version 1.04, JCL-Drawer can be run as a batch process to generate flowcharts without human intervention. An elementary script language makes possible to execute all the processing commands used in the interface.
